About Us

Since 2010, Nataraj Youth Cultural Organization (NYCO) has been a registered Canadian not-for-profit.

NYCO brings people together through arts, creates awareness of the following social issues:

  1. the virtue of non-violence
  2. reduce social stress by educating the youth at an early age
  3. nurture a concept of healthy living for all ages
  4. promote a society of individuals whose motto and ideology will be non-violence in its purest form using the Gandhian principle
To embrace diverse cultures and ethnic origins to bring them on a common platform through performing and visual arts. NYCO aims to build and grow the relationship between India and Canada through arts and culture.

NYCO performs two events per year with many more to come in the future to maintain East Indian heritage and customs by doing cultural activities that include East Indian Hindi language-based music and authentic East Indian base classical dance. Our first dedicated event is the celebration of non-violence day. The second event is a parade that represents the state of Gujarat having this event on Independence Day every year.
